No. You cannot put asbestos in a standard skip.
Asbestos is a hazardous controlled waste. Standard skip companies are not licensed to carry it. Putting asbestos in a standard skip is illegal and can result in fines for you and the skip operator.
Why can't asbestos go in a standard skip?
Under the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 (England and Wales), asbestos waste is classified as hazardous. This means it cannot be mixed with general waste in a standard skip. Standard skip hire companies are not registered to carry hazardous waste — and if they knowingly accept it, they face prosecution too.
What happens if I put asbestos in a skip?
The skip company will likely refuse collection or charge a significant remediation fee to have the asbestos removed separately before the skip can be collected. In serious cases, the Environment Agency may investigate. You, as the waste producer, retain legal responsibility for how the waste is disposed of — even if you hand it to someone else.
What do I use instead?
You have two compliant options — both of which we provide:
1. Direct Collection
We come to your site, load up the asbestos sheets and take them away. Best for one-off or smaller loads. Fast, simple, fixed price.
Get a quote2. Specialist Asbestos Skip
A dedicated asbestos skip — not a standard one — left on site for you to load. We collect and dispose correctly. Good for larger jobs or when you need more time.

Can a standard skip company arrange an asbestos skip?
Some standard skip companies have arrangements with licensed subcontractors and can point you in the right direction. But in most cases they will simply tell you they cannot accept asbestos. It is quicker and simpler to go direct to a specialist — like us.
